BRIC ArtFP is an open request for proposals (RFP) from emerging and established local visual artists to explore and expand the possibilities of their work. With this commissioning program led by BRIC’s Contemporary Art program, artists receive honorariums and production fees for exhibition of their work in the Project Room or Hallway spaces. This opportunity includes assistance with development time, installation, marketing, documentation, and more.
For Freedoms is presenting a special project booth at Expo Chicago this fall in collaboration with Blackpuffin and Curated by Modou Dieng and Michelle Woo. The selling exhibition will be titled, “Looks of Freedom” and explore notions of black, brown and cultural belonging through diaspora stories.

Depicting contemporary luxury designer products in the European oil painting technique of trompe l’oeil, Peterman brings into question the illusion of wealth and the cultural impact that desirable brands have on the perception of an individual and how an individual perceives those around him/her.
